Wood painting base 3D, set of 2

Wood as a picture support has a long tradition, many painters love the special look of the rigid wooden panels.

The depth of 38 mm gives a great look on the wall, a frame is unnecessary. You can leave the sides raw or paint them for a three-dimensional picture.

Due to the strong tension forces of the acrylic paint, the wooden panel is a good alternative to canvases for a thick paint application. In order to create a durable and color-intensive picture on wood, the wooden painting surface should be primed several times in any case.

Please note: The wooden painting grounds are unglazed and absolutely need a primer to avoid swelling by water - this applies especially to strongly water-based paints such as watercolor, gouache, tempera & acrylic. For the primer, we recommend a multi-layer, undiluted application with Gesso, for a multi-layer build-up afterwards, we recommend our Acrylic Binder.
